Stock Fabrics

All of our homewares are custom made to order in your choice of fabrics. You have the option to send your own fabric or choose a stock fabric. Prices are shown on the product listings. 

Customer's Own fabric 

If you are sending your own fabric please bear in mind the following:

Width:

Most standard width fabrics are appx 138cm wide. This is wide enough to accommodate headboards up to a small double and 1m of fabric will usually be sufficient for the smaller sizes. Larger sizes will require 2m of fabric which can either be taken from the length of the fabric to avoid seams (this will only work with plain or non-directional prints), or have seams attached at either side to widen the fabric. The seams will be visible on the finished headboard and it is not ideal with very complex prints. 

Weight:

Your fabric will need to be a medium or heavy weight. Very lightweight fabrics will crease and wear quickly.

Safety:

To comply with Furniture Fire Safety Regulations for domestic use your fabric will need to contain at least 75% natural fibres (cotton, linen, viscose, modal, silk, wool). I combine these with a firesafe liner to comply with the Regulations. Alternatively, you can ask the supplier to add a fire retardant coating to the fabric; I will need to see the certificate which should be sent by the supplier.
